DIET OF DANCE This class focuses on cardio for calories and the stretching of the body through pilates to slim away inches and tone. A fun way to lose weight and stay fit! This class is perfect for someone who likes to dance but not interested in performing or learning choreography. There are no moves to learn only calories to burn! This class meets all levels of energies. Be sure to bring a sweat towel and gym shoes with comfortable clothing. Guaranteed to leave feeling better than when you came. Great way to meet other individuals with goals of getting and staying fit for motivation. If you like to dance, this is your class!!!
WEST AFRICAN DANCE This cultural based dance combines movements that mimic nature as well as the trials and celebrations of the African culture. African dancing is done to the rhythm of jimbay drums and other native instruments. This form of dance is great for anyone interested in the West African Culture. It's also the perfect workout that strengthens the entire body at once! Its so much fun, you won't even realize you are working out. Its also educational teaching the rich history of West Africans. This dance is done barefoot and traditional West African garb is worn to complete the look. Available at class.
REAL HIP-HOP DANCE This style of dance goes as far back into the 80's and reaches to the Crumpin youth of today. This form of dance allows one to express feelings creatively through dance that words just can't express. It's also done at many celebrations. You will learn old school dances as well as the latest dances as seen on t.v. and videos. Hip-Hop has taken on many styles through the years, but rest assured if you like America's Best Dance Crew, you'll love these classes! Gym shoes and comfortable clothes are necessary for this class.
PRAISE DANCE Come and dance like David! This style of dance ministers to the dancer as well as the congregation. It combines spirit filled movements that bring to life lyrics that honor God in a way that is pleasing in His sight. The students shall also find fulfillment in developing their own personal worship through prayer-dance and other exercises that will enhance their private worship. This is the ideal class for any individual who is looking to uncover a new form of worship, or for dance groups looking for new choreography. This form of dance renews the mind, body, and spirit. Socks or bare feet are acceptable, ballet shoes are helpful but not required. There is praise dance attire, but not required.
BELLY DANCE This class is a companion to the Diet of Dance class. Its a belly sculpting workout that is an awesome alternative to crunches. There are lots of benefits to belly dancing including self-esteem build, bone strengthening, digestion aid, and best of all it tones abs and produces weight loss. Its one of the fastest ways to drop inches and pounds. Belly dancing makes you feel beautiful inside and out. A shimmy wrap is a wrap made of cotton material with bells attached that jingle when you move and is worn to assist in learning belly dance techniques, sold at class but not required. Fitted stretch pants and top helps to view your body as you practice techniques.
JAZZ DANCE Get your hips swayin' , heart pumpin', arms swingin', foot tappin', and soul groovin'. Join the newest and hottest new dance class in the ATL. Jazz dance will highlight the moves that your latest Pop artists are known for. Jazz emphasizes execution, originality, and the art of body isolations and movement suspension. Its roots are steeped in the ideas of African dance, which influences the rhythmic expressions borrowed by jazz. The atmosphere is fun and friendly and all levels welcome. Come in form fitting clothes, bare feet, or jazz shoes. No jeans!
TODDLER’S DANCE Toddlers Dance: This class is for 2-5 years olds who love to dance and would like to begin perfecting that talent. This class introduces toddlers to choreography, balance, and rhythm. Self-esteem and social skills are gained as well. We use toddler’s favorite music friends such as Elmo, Barney, and Dora. This class is fun for toddlers. Toddlers are able to come to the studio for a class or we even go to daycare centers with 10 or more registered toddlers.
CHILDREN’S BALLET Students will learn beginning level ballet technique and vocabulary in a fun and creative environment. Students are required to wear a solid color leotard, black preferably, pink tights and pink ballet shoes. Hair must be in a bun.
ADULT BALLET Come fulfill your dreams! Beginning level ballet technique and vocabulary will be taught in an entertaining, creative and artistic environment Skills, synchronization, and rhythm will be taught through creative choreography and movement. This class allows you to increase flexibility, improve posture, and develop lean muscles and a slimmer physique. Students are required to wear proper ballet attire, which may include: a solid color leotard (preferably black), pink tights and pink ballet shoes. . Hair must be pulled away from the face and secured in a bun, donut or pinned down. For modesty, students may wear a T-shirt or dance skirt. No dangling earrings or necklaces may be worn due to safety reasons.
